Why a hook instead of a pad
Why does the chain hang rather than lie flat?
A coiled chain in a pouch works itself into knots every time it moves, and fine chains kink permanently once they do. Hanging the necklace from a padded hook keeps the chain straight and the pendant clear of the lining, so it comes out ready to wear.
Will it hold a long chain?
A standard 40 to 50 cm chain hangs comfortably. Longer opera-length chains need to be doubled before hanging, which is fine — the point is that the chain is supported rather than piled.
Is it only for necklaces?
It is built around the hook, so necklaces and pendants are what it does best. For rings, earrings and a bracelet together, our jewellery organiser boxes have divided compartments instead.
